IN MEMORY
They stood together in silence
in moonlight, at the garden's gate
Listening t the night birdsing
a song of love to his mate
Of all the sweetest days we have known
this moment will be our end
A single tear streamed his cheek
Loving, as i shall never love again
How their souls yearned for the past
when the future went untold
He drew from off his withered hand
the hoop of anniversary gold
Our love lives on, he whispered
their lips meet and time stood still
Their hands intertwined together
so I leave you my heart forever
His hands slipped from hers
he faded away too soon
And the moon that once set for her
now shone lovingly on his tomb

Desert Wind
I toss upon a fakir's bed of nails,
cocooned by sweltering blanket of Santa Ana's heat.
The heavy pall of valley's stale air
silenced ceiling fan's drowsy murmuring.
Sea-foam green silk sheets,
stained and twisted by sweat's patina clings,
a flaccid tentacle wrapped about my ankles,
chain me to the reality of your absence.
I hear your words within feverish wind,
moan against the caress of your whisper.
My thoughts a Pandora's box of buried emotions,
exhumed.
A thousand words of longing's sorrows
stumble,
a herd of spastic gazelle,
leaps drunkenly from my tongue.
I merge my grief with Coyote's,
howling lament for lost love,
but in understanding
we were able to let go.

Does anyone know of a publishing site, I've done the poetry.com thing and while they've published me, there are poets that have gotten other offers and while the one poet this has happened to is incredibly talented as an artist, I'm wondering why my inbox isn't crowded with strokes (communists!)

But I think I'll share one with you now.
its called Why Do You Cry?[glow=green,2,300]Update:12/22/2003!! I just got published internationally through Noble House of London with this poem. :o ;D[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Why Do You Cry?
We never do the things we used to do
no matter how hard I try.
Instead now when I look at you
you just begin to cry.
I tell you I love you everyday and
you never blink an eye.
When I reached out and touched your
hand you jerked and began to cry.
I'd gladly take back all I've done and
make those tears run dry.
Your face is just a mournful stare as
you begin to cry.
I watched you look through our pictures
something caught my eye.
You looked through our old wedding photos
you smiled instead of cried.
As I knelt down to hold you
your smile ran to hide.
The paper that you read explained
the day that I had died.
The memory came flooding back
I hung my head and sighed.
I held you, kissed you one
last time as we began to cry.
