One of the first ghost stories I ever heard was that the ghost of Leatherlips, a Wyandot chief, rises from his grave on the anniversary of his execution every year in June to walk down to the banks of the Scioto River. He had been put to death under trumped up charges of witchcraft. I heard that story waaaaaay back in the late 1960's. I don't think I have heard anything about it since, and was wondering if there were any eyewitnesses to this or if anyone has ever done a paranormal investigation on the site. A more recent story has surfaced about him supposedly putting a curse on the Memorial golf tournament, but that is pretty obviously hogwash that someone made up as a joke.
