Hey, at least you got some interested parites, which could bring about an exchange of experiences and determination of repeat encounters with multiple people in specific areas.

Last week I had a couple of things happen. When passing the former sleep test rooms the name Amanda came to me. The next day I heard haunted.

That's interesting. I wonder how that name fits into that location and why it contacted you in that way.

I don't know about the name at all and I'm not sure where to go to find out if there was anyone with that name who worked here. As for contacting me I can only think that the spirit is use to me by now. I haven't heard anything since from that spot. I have been touched a couple of times on my wrist. The first time was up on the 5th floor hallway. The next time was down in a main floor hallway. It was a little weird to say the least. Staff is changing in the building and I suppose the spirits are comforted by people they know.

Just joined but having worked in several "psychiatric hospitals" as a therapist, there were parts of the hospital, while still open, that very few staff members would go into or even through, alone. Since one hospital is closed, there are units and even entire buildings that even if I had the key to the door, would not even consider going into. "Haunted", well who is to say. "Ghosts", from when or where? The "old patient cemetery" has been relocated but I wonder that even if the remains are relocated, does that mean that "something" still remains at the original grave site location? Glad I am retired. Now the only "odd things" I have to deal with are what has been a part of my life since birth.
Ghosts are a fact of life. Just because we choose to or not to believe in them makes totally no difference to them or so I "have been told".

That's possible, PH. The old hospital building here in town used to be that way before it was closed and torn down. I volunteered there when I was in high school delivering the papers to the nurses stations and flowers to the rooms, and I couldn't stand being on the 5th floor maternity ward for long at all. That floor used to be the old psych ward for the longest time from what I've heard from folks who worked there when that was open. But that floor was always hotter than the rest, no matter what time of the year it was, and just dark and uncomfortable, almost closed in feeling.

Life is too short to take seriously, none of us get out of it alive.
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be.Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Wow, you can't get any better "up-to-the-minute" updates than that, WW.

Then about ten minutes ago I see a white mist in the reflection of the steel on our lunch room door. I tried to debunk it but couldn't. I have no idea what it was.
Well....... if it wasn't "All-You-Can-Eat Chilli Tuesday" then it was probably a Ghost.....
Sorry. First thing that entered my mind when you said white mist and lunch room.

LOL I'm finding out that other people using a certain hallway have had a feeling that a woman is watching them. This is the same hallway that I seen a nurse standing in an exam room. One of the women in our building has a special needs daughter who is dropped off at our building after school. She has mentioned to her mother about two women in that hallway. I'm hoping on Tuesday that we can talk further.
