A little more detail about the house this weekend. Let me preface this with I am open to the possibility of the paranormal but I am somewhat skeptical. Anyway, the house belonged to an aunt and uncle of a friend who have passed. The house was left to the friend in the will. The aunt and uncle were both retired police detectives with the uncle having investigated some satanic cults back in the 70s and 80s.(he still had photos and relics in his office in some old files. Anyway, the friend and her husband trashed all that stuff and over time the fun began. "Old Timey" music being heard in the middle of the night,china cabinet rattling,strange noises. Also there is a full basement that is furnished into a couple of bedrooms. One of which has a well with a concrete lid over it in one of the basement bedroom's closet.(I know, completely weird) Well, feel free to doubt this story and think me an imbecile. Trust me, it sounds like something you would watch in a theater and I have a hard time swallowing this tale but...the friend and husband are completely serious.


Anyway, best part of the story, the husband was doing yardwork one day when a car pulls up and a home owner's insurance agent gets out to take an updated picture of the house for their files. Well, he tells the husband that he was there a week or so previous and took the picture after knocking on the door and asking the old lady in the wheelchairs permission. There is no old lady with a wheelchair he explains to the agent but he says he spoke with her and she said it would be fine to take the pic. Well, the aunt was in a wheelchair up until her passing. His sd card failed him which is why he had returned to take another pic.

Tomorrow night just may be interesting! Stay tuned.

Wow! Sounds like Auntie is still caring for her house. What part of the country is this house? With having a basement, it reminds me of a couple I lived in, in New England.

Thinking about placing the EVP on the concrete lid of the well in the closet. The party will be upstairs and outside so I hope to be able to get something audible.
I don't have a clue what I am doing but I'm a fairly resourceful guy so we'll see what happens.

Meanderer first I hope you will be safe this coming week.. I just moved out here to Washington state in March from CT. As for turning 50 Im loving it! I cant wait till January.. and you are only as old as you make yourself be.. Heck I would never act my age lol my kids hate it.. My son introduced me to his new girlfriend as this is my mom dont mind her she is very silly.. so I made a few wild noises and hope I didnt scare her off! lol... but Im thinking of when I hit 50 maybe going off by my self too ro reflect on my life. I have had so many up and downs and seem to always overcome them. But who ever said you are given no more then you can handle must have had a great life!.. But I cant belive I have been here on GV 8 years this month! wow where has time gone..

actually today, 8 years ago on October 27th 2004 I joined.. Wow it doesent seem that long ago I was posting the photos I was so excited to get.. so many have come and gone but It is good to see so many old faces around..

Here in Connecticut, they're already going back on a lot of things they'd been forecasting about the storm. They were originally calling for winds up to 90 mph, but they've since changed that to gusts up to 70 mph. Not nearly as much rain as they (those meteorologists) first "predicted". The main concern is the storm surge. Some houses that got beat up by Irene last year still haven't been repaired yet.

We'll see...

The party was great and I have three files to interpret over the next few days. There are a couple of interesting moments but nothing that would cement the idea of the house being haunted. I don't know how to post an EVP or if it can be done here. Any advice would be great in that arena. I downloaded the latest version of audacity to play back the EVP. Anyway, its almost All Hallows Eve!!!

Meanderer, Cathy's post reminded me that just because I'm staying up late watching the news about the storm and praying for everyone doesn't mean they know that. Also got an email from one of my brothers last night. I have 3 brothers and a sister plus aunts and uncles and lots of cousins there and a couple of old friends.

Cathy, what about you? I heard of a very BIG earthquake north of Vancover. Were you feeling that. It was 7. something.

Hi everyone. My wife has been in the hospital since last Tuesday, so I missed out on a lot of commentary.
I hope all of you who are affected by the storm are riding it out safely. We are more or less used to them down here in Texas, but they still kick our butts regardless. If those in the know say get out, GET OUT! Many people on Bolivar Peninsula (north of Galveston) didn't listen and paid with their lives back during Hurricane Ike.
The "pants" thing commented on previously is not a Texas thing, just some mentally ill fat guy with a yearning for attention. Most Texans wear pants, except women from time to time, transplanted Scotsmen, streakers, and those "funny" guys.
