Hello! I live in Kentucky and I am planning on venturing down to Grandview Cemetery (aka Hell's Gate). I contacted both the Breckinridge County and Harding County historical societies and they assured me that it isn't private property and I can poke around there.
Has anyone ever been there?

I'm from Ohio, but I'd love to hear some of the stories and legends associated with this place. Do tell, please.

On great fields something stays.....Spirits linger, to consecrate ground for the vision place of souls. And reverent men and women from afar, and generations that know us not and that we know not of, heart-drawn to where and by whom great things were suffered and done for them, shall come to this deathless field, to ponder and dream; and lo! The shadow of a mighty presence shall wrap them in its bosom, and the power of the vision pass into thier soles.-Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain

Hey there!!! What part of Ohio are you in?
I really would like to go up to Bobby Mackey's, it's in Kentucky but closer to Cincinnati, than Louisville where I am.

Both places I'm sure would be a great investigation. Let us know what happens please.
Right this way to my haunted space.

I've investigated Bobby Mackey's....I'm not impressed, lol.
This cemetery sounds intriguing, though. I've heard several years ago they were having a huge problem with vandalism, and suspected animal abuse/sacrifice. Please be careful if you go...and don't go alone. Also, even if you're being told its not private property, you might want to seek permission from the actual county or town that owns the property, and make sure you're up to date on your state's cemetery code. I'm not familiar with KY, but I know here in WV that cemeteries, even "public," are technically closed at night. Scout it out in the day first.
