e 1960s has been turned into a state park for public use. It has fire pits, picnic areas, me about a strange encounter after I had shown her a youtube video on time slip. She was unsure about an event she encountered some years ago in maine.
Fort williams was once an active military fort and since the 1960s is a state park for public use.it has bbq grills, picnic areas etc.
My friend was there one summer night for an event of some kind and with several friends ventured around the park which still has all its old military hangers and buildings, some I think are used for storage.
She noticed a door to a building was ajar and peeked Inide, she saw several men in ww2 military uniforms, who saw her as well. Upon seeing her one went up to the door and slammed it shut from her.
Shes unsure If these guys were ww2 buffs in costumes
Fort williams was used as a military facility in ww2

Out west we don't have the grandiose rock piles like they do back east. The biggest Fort west of the Rockies I know of is Fort Point at the GoldenGate.
We have a Russian Fort not far from the Bay Area also.
Most west coast fortifications are in the WWI/WWII era and are made of concrete.
