Here's an explanation for the pause in global temperature increase.

(Phys.org) —A team of climate experts from Britain's national weather service (The Met Office) has given a series of presentations at the Science Media Centre in London with the aim of trying to explain why global warming has flattened over the past decade. Journalists were invited to listen as climatologists explained theories that have been developed to describe the current "pause" in global temperature increases the planet has been experiencing.

Scientists around the world have noted that despite increasing amounts of carbon being pumped into the atmosphere, average global temperatures have leveled off since the late 1990's. The main theory to explain why this has occurred, members of the team explained, centers around the world's oceans. Researchers studying the temperature of the oceans have found that surface temperatures increased as expected—what's new is an increase in water temperature at much greater depths. The ocean is acting as a giant heat sink, they say, absorbing much of the heat that would otherwise be found in the atmosphere. They back this up by noting that satellites that measure the amount of heat that arrives and leaves our planet indicate that heat retained by the planet continues to rise, even as atmospheric temperatures have leveled off. That heat, the scientists said, has to be going somewhere, and since it's not likely being absorbed by dry land areas, that leaves the sea. They acknowledged that no one really knows what impact rising deep sea temperatures might have on the planet.

That won't stop them from taking millions more of your tax dollars/pounds to keep their pockets lined and their religion going.......

Who is they that will profit? And, just suppose your economical fears of others profiting from AGW is wrong. Would you admit that you could be wrong? What would it take for you admit that climate science is correct? The ocean lapping at your doorstep. I really don't comprehend the intractable position of people like you. Are you afraid you'll have to change your life style? Is that what drives you to say what you say?

If you wish to continue to make a fool of yourself, I suggest that you go back and read some of your own posts.

Particualrly, the ones in which you denied the fact that "global warming" had ended some fifteen years ago. In these posts you listed numerous links to your fellow denier collaborators.

Yet now with a completely straright face, you advocate the complete opposite.

So while you and your fellow denier collaborators twist yourselves into pretzels with ever more ridiculous rationalisations and explanations, those that understand science and look at the evidence can continue with real science work.

I was mistaken. But that does not mean climate change has stopped as you so triumphantly like to point out. The heat, as stated in the article is still accumulating and it has to go somewhere, so where? You may have heard the saying a watched pot never boils. That means water can absorb a lot of heat energy before being released so too the oceans.

Revised posting.

I was mistaken. But that does not mean climate change has stopped as you so triumphantly like to point out. Read the last two paragraphs especially the second sentence of the last paragraph in the article, The heat, as stated in the article is still accumulating and it has to go somewhere, so where? You may have heard the saying a watched pot never boils. That means water can absorb a lot of heat energy before being released, so too the oceans. As the evidence mounts I have a high level of confidence climate change skeptics will be proven wrong. Where's your contrary evidence canuck?

P.S. I put to you the same thing I said to loganinkososvo. Can you explain your self?
