It does make you do that.. One of my uncles was in the WTC a few weeks before 9/11 and when I heard about that... Man. Sending my thoughts to the families.
I am so sorry to hear about this terrible accident to our north. Yes, you are right - it makes you stop and think for a minute, and then you give thanks for your health and safety, and your family's health and safety, too. Living here near Boston, we've had some close calls. I pray nonstop for my four grown children. Years ago while training for Northwest Airlines, my daughter went over that fated bridge in Minneapolis about a half hour before it collapsed. A few weeks later, my son was working in a Best Buy and a man tried to rob him at gunpoint. My son thought it was one of his friends playing a joke, so he laughed at him! The robber turned, walked out, and proceeded to successfully rob a nearby Wal-Mart! Every day, every minute, is a gift. I just keep on praying, keep my eyes open and my head held high - and try to be as strong as I can. God Bless you and all those in Ottawa. My prayers are with you now.
Cry Havoc! And let loose the Dobermans of war!
Life is too short to take seriously, none of us get out of it alive.
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be.Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
