Things have happened that can be "ghostly" but my mind always says there is an explanation. I REALLY want to believe otherwise. To touch on...Last year on 10/27 we were bracing for impact with Super Storm Sandy coming up the coast. My husband and I had hired 2 workers to help with the house. It was a Saturday. I was watching Sandy's progress on my BigScreen tv. In the reflection of the tv I see my husband walk across the kitchen to the bathroom. I called out that Sandy was going to hit us sometime Monday, 29th. He did not answer. He wasn't even in the house. He was up on the street w/the 2 workers. I didn't see a face I just assumed it was him, because who else could it be. I was rattled. This Thursday night I was in the exact same spot on the couch and the overhead light came on. I jumped and turned it off. The switch was in the on position. Things like that have been happening over the last year. One more tidbit...My father was a Physisict, a man of science and an Atheisit. I received a call at work from him (20 years ago) and he was out of his mind. I was so scared a Deputy drove me home. My father told me he had encountered some kind of ghost in the garden and he wanted me to record everything he said so he would have a record of what happened. My father proceed to tell me about what the ghost had said. It took about 20 minutes to record. I can't remember one word my father said and pretty much forgot about it ( I was a teenager). But I do remember I have never seen my father rattled like that ever. He crossed over in 2000 so I can't ask. The fact that someone like my father said he had seen someone is very powerful proof for me. I don't know what happened to the tape. Any insights...? Sorry to ramble. Happy Halloween, Natasha FYI- Both of these events 10/27/12 and 10/17/13 happened less than 48 before the full Moon.

This is one of those reports that must be taken as several events. There is no common event tying them to each other. As such they are treated separately.

First the reflection in the TV. You hired two people to get things ready for the storm, I asume they were someplace nearby working. You see the reflection of who you assume to be your husband yet you also admit you could not see his face.and only assumed it was him. Could it be one of the workers walking by creating the reflection? You would need to duplicate the situation and see if this was possible.

The light came on by itself and you found the switch was in the On position. Two possibilities here. First, is it possible power to the outlet was off elsewhere and just then restored? Another is the the switch was on and not making good contact. It is not uncommon for oxidation to form on switch contacts when they are open (off). When you turn the switch on they fail to make good electrical connection. Later, as the pressure from the spring in the switch continues to force them together they break through the oxidation and curret flows. The light comes on. When you investigate you find the switch On and the light lit. You turn it off and it goes off. Unusual but not paranormal.

The ghost in the garden is open to interpretation. Since the man has passed it is impossible to know whether any medical condition may have caused him to imagine things or whether the events happened as he says. You might try listening to the recording and attempting to see if his reactions were what you would have expected of him. If not there is the possibility something may be at work causing him to behave abnormally. Whether that is paranormal or not is open to conjecture since it is impossible to actually to get first hand testimony from him.

In summary while it may be OK to want to believe, it is also imparative to consider rational or mundane explanations first. And since each of these events seems disconnected from the other, and there other rational conclusions to consider, they do not indicate any common factor leading to a paranormal source.

Thank you CaveRat for your time...You are of course correct. Just a note: The reflection I saw was someone that HAD to be in the house. Literally not 10 feet from me but I was preoccupied with weather report. (I won't bore you with my house layout) so it was a real shock that no one was there because there is no way in or out back there and dense folage cover the windows and I can't see out if I was standing directly in front of the windows. I know I'm trying to find connections. I just read this back and realize how ridiculous I sound. I am a card carrying Witch and we believe that Halloween is when the veil is the thinnest and we honor our dead. That was the connection I made in my mind.. That and it was a Full Moon. I admit that is pretty desperate. Again thank you for your response and your time and Have a Happy Halloween! Natasha

nq13, I am an atheist and a believer. I have seen many explanations posted by CaveRat2 that ring so true or at least in cosideration of experiences posted by others. That is how I try to consider personal experiences as well as the experiences of others. Then there are those experiences that grab hold of you and make you say "I know what I saw", such as with the three apparitions that I have seen over time. Each one was acutely separate from one another with varying aspects of visibility, though two were in the same work place several months apart. Before those experiences I believed dead was dead, though family history contradicted those beliefs. Now I am still firmly an atheist who has a great belief and interest in the paranormal and the afterlife, of which many find that pairing confusing. I still pick apart every experience to find the possible root explanation (in non-expert layman common sense), but as I said, there are still those epxeriences that remain unexplained or personally apparent after analyzing.

It would have been great if you still had the tapes. No one in the family knows where they might have ended up?
Right this way to my haunted space.
