LOL! logan, my high school color was maroon and my wife's college color (Texas A&M) is maroon as well, so that phrase has come up a lot in our conversations and reminds me of Bugs.
WW, I want our winter to stay, but we don't have anything to compare with what you guys have been getting. I hope y'all get some relief up there.

Hey Soul, I'll trade my snow, ice and sleet for your rain.

What about "Rain", by The Beatles? Haven't heard about them in the UK? They were big over here, a while back. ;)

When people around here complain about the Winter and all the snow we've gotten (although the weather reports claim they are "snow storms", I reply that it isn't a "storm"...it's just snow. Happens every year about this time.), I remind them that, if it wasn't for the Winter and the cold and snow, we'd lose our appreciation for the Spring. Complaining about it isn't gonna change the weather, so just deal with it as best as you can, and it'll get better soon enough. :)

I am a woman that is both a Python fan and Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies fan! We are not as rare as you think, lol!

Ali

Ali - Still rare, but not impossible to find. But I probably should have added (and this would probably be the deal-breaker) 3 Stooges. Most women just don't seem to understand the "holy trinity" of Curly (sometimes Shemp, but definitely NOT Curly Joe!), Larry and Moe. n'yuk, n'yuk, n'yuk!

LOL! meanderer, that's true about the Stooges, though the women folk who appreciate are out there; my mother is one of them.
As meanderer may have seen on my Facebook page, I posted that I love this, meaning that we are cold and getting sleet/hail/snow/rain/whatever down here in Houston, Texas. Gives me a chance to wear some of my replica WW2 winter hats.
soulrunner, great list. Yeah, gots to be havin' The Beatles on there. I think "Here Comes the Sun" kind of could be included as it mentions melting the winter weather, but that's a judgment call. Also, how about "Raining Men". Um...never mine, forget that one; what was I thinking.
As long as it doesn't flood anyone out, I love continuous rain. Sometimes I actualy get disappointed when the sun come out.

I am a very big Beatles fan my mother named me after Paul, my father has pretty much everything they did on vinyl, I do to. My grandfather met them, and to be honest I thought "rain" was to obvious. As for the rain I guess that I am lucky in the fact that I can still see my grass (just) but for some people over here they have lost everything as they have been flooded out since before Christmas. Besides I am British, it is almost part of our ancient law to moan about the weather. It's to wet, to cold, to sunny. A moan about the weather might not change it, but it does feel good once it is off your chest.Posted Image

I'm a big Beatles fan as well, soulrunner. I have passed that on to my sons, 23 and 17. You are in a unique situation; I have only met people who attended a concert and never a person who has actually met any one of the Fab Four. And the vinyl collections you mentioned make me envious.
We get a lot of rain here in the coastal area of Texas, though we get hit by droughts from time to time, which makes me REALLY appreciate the rain. Sorry to hear about the flood victims there; I can sympathize from experience.
England is ancestral on my father's side, so I hope to visit some day.

As much as I like cloudy or overcast days (and I especially love thunderstorms), I wouldn't want to be some place where there's constant, insessant rain. I loved the weather in Ireland (yeah it rained, but it wasn't that bad; on the western side, it was mostly a steady mist from the ocean). But for some reason, I'm just not interested in going to England (although Wales might be nice).

My next journey to Europe will probably be to France or Germany (more specifically, München - because it's so fun to say!).

I used to have all the original issue Beatles' records...albums and singles, but they were sitting in my closet and I decided to get rid of them - sold them (dirt cheap!) to a girl I worked with.
