This seems to be a good topic these days. Where I am we are in our third day of frost bite warning with at least two more to go. Although this is good for the Canal, the longest skateway in the world, it isn't fun piling the layers on. Well spring should be here in two possibly three months.
Right this way to my haunted space.

We hit a balmy -03 this morning. Quite a relief from the -11 of a couple weeks ago! Two more days then it is supposed to moderate abit before going even lower next week! Where is this Global Warming they keep promising us????

Gimme some of that. Okay, not tooo much that it turns Houstonians freeze stupid. Most can't drive in icy conditions down here. With that said, I love the cold, and will not go outside naked in frostbite conditions.

Globalwarming my foot! Our Arctic front will be coming through tomorrow. So tomorrow and Friday we WILL see some stupid driving around here. BUT....my cousin in Connecticut sent more photos. Lots of snow. It was beautiful when I was a kid but now as an OP (old person) I'd be a prisoner in my home all winter!
Maybe they meant a mini ice age?

Hi, Puti; long time no see.
Yes, it most likely will get stupid in Texas in regards to driving. I ride a commuter bus here in Houston, so I can observe along I-45 into town. I'll have my camera ready.

Ugh... As I'm typing this, the weather gadget on my desktop is reading 12 degrees F outside. Most definitely layer out the butt weather... Wound up wearing a couple layers of gloves, a fleece lined hoodie, woolen trench coat(ish) jacket, and hat coming home.

Hi there Jimmary! I've been in my cave.
When I said "arctic front" I sure didn't mean anything like you guys have in Pa. Guess everything is relative.....it's just too cold for me at 26 degrees this morning. I know....Boo Hoo!

Lycan, we just stayed home for our day in the cold. We didn't venture out but to let the dogs out, and even they didn't want to stay out long.
Puti, as you know by now we are getting hit again tonight with an EVEN colder front than last week. This time here in Houston we actually have a chance of snow, or what passes for snow for us. We takes whats we's can get.

We're at a balmy 14° in southern Connecticut...kinda warm, considering what it'd been just a few days ago. It's all how you look at it, and how you deal with it. Yeah, dress in layers. Don't go out unless you have to. Top off your "antifreeze" (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more!).

Jimmary - I've learned something a while ago, riding on a bus during Connecticut winters: when it's slippery outside, the best seat on the bus is the back seat - when the back of the bus starts sliding and swinging from side to side...it's like being at 6 Flags! Without the outrageous admittance fee. :)

Cold again here this morning. I have agreed that the could stay just for Winterlude then leave quickly. LOL SICK OF THE COLD!!! When I was younger no problem but now I have had enough. I am tired of layering and boots.
Right this way to my haunted space.

When did we start giving winter storms names? It's just winter...... always has been....always will be.

Now they make every little flurry sound like armageddon.

LOL, meanderer; I love the Monty Python reference (watched that episdoe this past weekend). And I always sit in the back of the bus, so I'm ready to put my arms up and go "WEEEE".
WW, as you may have seen in my pictures on Facebook, it was below freezing Tuesday and I was comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt. No wind blowing, thankfully. Of course my feet needed a little protecting, hence the boots.
