This is just my opinion. I don't know anything about V's situation or relationship.

I think, it should be at least over a year (or more) of being in a deep relationship before you even move in.

Also, both should be able to have the means, financially, to pay for the rent (or mortgage). If it's only one person paying the rent, it's not going to work in the long run because that person paying the rent has the right to tell the other, anytime, to leave for not helping pay.

What do you think?

We have been together for a year in July but I am putting a little bit of money from my pay check and my boyfriend is doing the same!

V, you're right about thinking it's too soon. Is he the one who wants to move in together?

Someone once told me couples should experience all the seasons (and all major holidays) together before making any formal commitments (engagements, moving in together, etc.) --- and many people have told me women especially should have enough money saved to be able to immediately move out on their own if necessary. Not sure what to think . . .

Autumnbelle, did you and your husband live together before you two decided to tie the knot?

We did, actually - but that was after a motorcycle accident we were in together --- I wasn't supposed to climb stairs due to a broken knee, and my house is three stories, his at the time was one. Not officially - we kept both houses. Not sure I would have done that had it not been for the accident.

Autumnbelle, thanks for the history. I didn't know you ride also. My husband and I also ride as well--motorcycle, moped, scooter, e-bike (that's a new thing) but not a lot the past few months exactly because of the reason you and your husband got into--an accident. Sorry to hear that but also glad to know you are both safe. btw what caused the accident?

As for living together before marriage, my husband and I didn't. I was still in Canada when we began and when I returned here we went the the traditional way and he and I just saw each other nearly every day. It looks like it worked lol!

Whatever
