I lived down the road from "Old Eloise", and she was and is a creepy area. My grandfather used to attentd AA there, and my aunt's "death" where there. I went there once as a little child and it was creepy. I will not even go to that blockbuster.

Kats...you have some Good pics here...and that's an understatement. Awesome Pictures. If we are able to have an outing at Eloise Asylum, then count me in. But I don't foresee this taking place anywhere in the near future. The building and property has a doomed look to it. This building has looked the same for as long as I can remember.
The picture taken with a person behind the gated fence......what is that white soft blur? It's all around this person, it looks to be in front of this person.

Hi - I just posted at another Eloise site that my daughter and I just got back from checking out Eloise and William Gonang cemetary in Westland which is where we live. ( the city not the cemetary! haha).

There isn't much left to see at Eloise. I REALLY wish I'd taken pics of Eloise way back when we first moved to Westland in the mid 60's. It was definately a scary looking place. And it was still in use at that time (some of it - I don't know if all).

When we moved from Riverview to Westland in '65 my family used to drive out on weekends so my Dad could supervise the building of the new house. Everytime we drove by that infamous intersection of Mich Ave. and Merriman, we sang a little song I made up . It was just one sentence actually - The corner was "The corner with - The Kooks, (Eloise), the Spooks (the cemetary), the Drunks (a bar) and the Drowns (what we took to be water towers - still there - don't actually know what they are!).

Ah, such a witty 10 year old. LOL.

But honestly, if anyone has pics of the place from those days, please share. It truly was a SCARY place.

It wasn't scary at all today. But then, it was a beautiful sunny day!

Thanks, moonchild! :(

I just loved your sight, insane! I put it under my favorites also. I was doing a look see and seen the "Ruins of Bellevue". I used to live in Bellevue and my Aunt & Grandparents still do. There was once a great Dr. there by the name of Dr. Frankenstein (his wife's name was Marilyn) and my Grandmother was his nurse. My other Aunt used to own a flower shop there that used to be an old train depot. I went to the elementary school there 7 used to go fishing off the bridge by the cemetary. Your sight helped me remember good times in my childhood I'd forgotten. Thank you for sharing your wonderful and intruiging (sp?) sight.

Hi All:

I just add my 2cents here. My good buddie and his wife lived in the neighbor hood across the street from Eliose and His wife worked there. It didn't matter what time of day it was there was just a strong strangeness that you could feel trying to reach out to you.Sometimes when you would be driving by the place you could hear the screams.
