The USS Hornet is NO exception. Remember, the Hornet, Yorktown, Saratoga, and Lexington took major damage, which Saratoga was sunk first, and Lexington a few days later. Yorktown was almost completely out of commission, and the Hornet was damaged so severely that they thought they would have to scuttle her along with the Yorktown. Then both were pressed into immediate repairs, that should have taken months to do, in 2 weeks to join Enterprise in the battle of Midway. Yorktown was sunk, Hornet's repaired hull was again almost ripped open, and Enterprise had moderate damage. Of course, the Japanese lost Hiryu, Akagi, Soryu, and Kaga carriers. Thousands of men lost their lives in this vicious, but crucial turning point, battle. It would be easy to see that there would be some focal points for hauntings to develop aboard the ships.
