WOW what a burn

I did notice the copy and paste bit too... just thought I'd refrain from too many unkind comments.
It wasn't really meant as an "unkind" comment.
If you're going to investigate something, you would already have the safety of your team to worry about, and they should be well trained...but to bring along "friends" would only complicate things, and make any legitimate investigation pretty worthless.
The comment about "Shadowlands", basically, was to point out that "Shadowlands" is of relatively low value, as far as claims about spirit activity. If this group wants to be taken more seriously, they should do their own research, instead of lifting things from other sites, especially from one of such poor reputation. But, that's just my opinion...

My personal opinion is they're only discrediting themselves by doing that.
I have to agree about the friends bit too, was just saying I missed the original mention of it, but yes if you're doing a full-scale investigation (the difference of any private place vs. say an always open cemetery) especially in a questionable safety area you shouldn't have guests unless they're also experienced paranormal associates.

Just throwing some updates on SECT Hauntings into this thread:
Someone mentioned a haunted cemetery down bluff point in Stonington. Bluff Point is in Groton, not Stonington. Haven't been to bluff point, but it's popular for runners and bikers, very close to me, never heard anything about it being haunted, right on the water.
Ledge Light, in New London: You can't go there without renting a private boat, I don't know who the proper people are to call for that. Can't recall the story there, something about a lighthouse operator named Eddie, his wife ran off with a sailor, Eddie killed himself, Wife came back, supposedly killed herself too when she heard what he though. Something crazy like that. Was on Most Haunted Places in The World or Scariest or something, they heard a woman's cries, they saw shadows, hear walking, saw light. TAPS went with Ghost Hunters, got nothing.
The Lighthouse Inn, New London: This place is now closed, sadly. The owners got in trouble for embezzlement among other things. One bride lost a $10,000 deposit for her wedding there, workers checks were bouncing, huge financial troubles, owner is now hiding in Canada. Nice lady, though. I've experienced cabinet doors opening by itself in one of the suites there, the radio changing it's own station, left my room, came back, found a chair in the middle. Ghost Hunters and TAPS recorded a great show about it.
Norwich State Hospital: Heavily Patrolled by Security, however, in something like sixty days or less, it goes back to being un-contracted public property, so the security should ease up within the next few months unless someone takes a sudden interest in it. Right now SWAT or ROTC does practice drills. You won't get charged pressed if youre caught there, typically, but you will be escorted down town and required to file a report and have it on your record. If you're interested in going, keep your eyes open for a few months and be patient so you don't get into any legal trouble. Many people still go down during the day for fishing, others sneak in to steal copper, so be careful.
Camp Connecticut: I went there last in late 2007. Got some neat pictures with some very tiny glowing blue lights, a few orbs, some white swirls, could have been cold breath, could have been a ghost, who knows. Got a few pictures under the pavillion with tons of orbs, could have very well been dust.I've had experiences with fully charged cameras just dying at the alter, also ran into a homeless guy, that was scary. Shortly after that, someone had reported on this site it was private property and closed and the wished for people to not go there. That was back in 2007 when the IOOF, the original owner, was thinking about re-opening it, it was widely stated on there website. Apparently they decided not to do anything with it because it's not mentioned on their site, they now have camps in niantic and stonington, so I'm guessing they don't own it anymore. I can't be sure if it's still private property to not trespass on. First time, it wasn't, second time it was, now as far as I know, nobody owns it. I can't tell you how to get there because I don't recall the routes, but I know how to get myself there. I'd be interested in checking it out again since the IOOF isn't doing anything more with it.
That's all, folks. Be sure to keep your eyes open for Norwich State Hospital to become public property again and to figure out whats up with Camp CT, I don't condone anyone going until they get more info, though!

By what I've gathered from other forums on this site, nobody has had too much impressive activity on hell hollow or cedar swamp. Many are speculating it to be just a rumor, FYI. Probably still fun to go, though.
