A great tribute, isn't it? I was reminded of the poet, Rumi, and his advice that when our time comes we should "seek for our resting place, not in the earth, but in the hearts of men."
I also mentioned last week that I would be attending a Native American sweat lodge over the weekend as part of the summer solstice, and as promised, prayers were said in Mykiedave's honor and a tobacco blessing was done for both him and Holly.
I also presented a Pendelton blanket to the Sweat Lodge Chief and dedicated it to Mykiedave. It's called "The Storyteller - Keep The Fires Burning." The title seemed appropriate.

(Be sure to click on the thumbnails!)
It was a beautiful day in North Idaho!

The sweat lodge was set up and gifts and honorings were placed on the mesa in front of it.

Even though I didn't know Mykiedave in the "real life" sense, in many ways I knew him a lot better than the people who live next door to me.
But unlike my noisy neighbors, I will truly miss Mykiedave . . .

What you did is absolutely wonderful!
It amazes me, this Internet thing, of how it truly touches each of our lives!

Holly seems like a wonderful lady and I just hate thinking of her having to go on without Md. Again, i never nmet her, but we had some correspondence about a famous relative of mine. She seemed very kind.
My hearts and prayers to Holly and family...

My heart and blessings go out to Holly and to all his friends and families. There is a saying that no one is really ever gone if they are remembered and loved. If this is true, then Mykiedave will certainly be around for eternity.

I am tackling each new day one second at a time, and often find that to be overwhelming. Everyone tells me I am being strong. They are wrong.
Right now, I can only describe myself as freefalling...untethered to anything.
I do thank you all for your thoughts here, your e-mails and your PM's..They mean so much to me.
This is a collage made by a dear friend of mine I wanted to share. When it arrived in the mail, it literally took me to my knees...where I stayed for quite some time savoring each picture..She caught his joy of life perfectly..

Earth, we've spoken and you know how your sweet gesture touches my heart. Nothing could have been more fitting..and I love it.
Kats, I have the picture you drew of Mykiedave and would love to talk with you..
I've framed the picture which is absolutely gorgeous and have it beside the family pictures of Dave...It is a treasure and I thank you..

Holly, my heart, thoughts and prayers are always with you at this time of the year.
Dave, you are still very much missed. How I wish you were here so that I could put you on the phone with the baby and you could tell him a story. Instead he will get to listen to you on CD. You will be the first person to tell him a story when he gets here!
Rest in peace MykieDave!!
