I too, never had the pleasure of meeting Mykiedave on GV.

But from what I have heard of him, he was a wonderful person and is very much missed!

My heart is with you too Holly during this time and I'm sure he is always with you!

mrsspookypants, thanks so much for reminding us that we once sat in the presence of a great and noble man. Yet somehow that seems like an oxymoron.

I can see MykieDave at peace, but resting? Not hardly Somehow, in my mind's eye, I'm envisioning this incredible soul, released from the limitations of the physical body, soaring ever higher and yet still reaching out to energetically touch each and every one of us on a daily basis.

As I've mentioned before, the poet, Rumi once said, "Seek for our resting place, not in the earth, but in the hearts of men." I can't think of a better or more shining example than MykieDave, for he truly lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by him.

The bond we share with MykieDave reminds me of a Celtic spiritual tradition known as the “Anam Cara.”

The Anam Cara was originally someone to whom you confessed, revealing the hidden intimacies of your life. With the “Anam Cara”, you could share your innermost self, your mind and your heart. This friendship was an act of recognition and belonging. When you had an “Anam Cara”, your friendship cut across all convention, morality and category. You were joined in an ancient and eternal way with the “friend of your soul”. The Celtic understanding did not set limitations of space or time on the soul. There is no cage for the soul. The soul is a divine light that flows into you and into your Other.

When you are blessed with an Anam Cara, the Irish believe this bond between friends is indissoluble: “This, I say, is what is broken by no chances, what no interval of time or space can sever or destroy, and what even death itself cannot part”.

Oh Holly...I always wondered what happened to your beloved husband when I saw all the beautiful tags folks here had in their siggys...now I know and although I'm late on this, I'm so deeply sorry for you, to have lost your half. We were all truly lucky to have such a man grace us with his love, heart, laughter, and to know how to take light on some things that didn't need to turn "ugly". I bet you my bottom dollar that he's given you many signs of him being next to you. Maybe a "swish" of your hair on night while sitting on the couch, or a song that you both enjoyed came playing over the radio...he's always with you Holly. You're truly a remarkable woman, very strong in my book & I just want you to know that if there's anything you need to do, or say...please know I have some of the best God given shoulders a woman can have...and I'd be more than happy to loan you one. You've become a dear friend to me since I joined GV, always making me feel good about the orb/dustie/oompa-loompa pics I post. You and Dave will truly be together again...the love & admiration you both had for one another is not taken away just like that. That is something that lives on in the soul for eternity. We love you Holly...

I joined the Village in April of this the year, and never had the chance to meet Dave or hear some of his stories that everyone is remembering. What I am able to gather from the posts, and the picture that Moonie posted, is that this man was a beloved individual, entertaining and lively, a good soul. I also realize that the Villagers here are a caring bunch, and this is the reason why I spend more time here than anywhere else. Holly, I feel sadness for you, and yet, I am guessing that the time you both spent together was wonderful and built some beautiful memories. His memory, as is apparent, shall carry on!

It's hard to believe that Mykiedave left us four years ago today, so I wanted to bump this back up and let the new villagers get to know one of the kindest, most incredible people they could ever meet here in the cyber world. But dont' take my word for it.

BTW - Mykiedave is still a GV moderator, so make sure you stay on topic!!!

I am ever grateful that Mykiedave is my co-moderator on Personal Experiences. He was so kind and helpful and always good for some chuckes. What a sweet, dear man and what a loss to this world that he had to leave us so soon.

Earth, it's incredible that he's been gone for four years already. Thanks for bumping this up.

It really is hard to believe its been four years since he passed. I still listen to his story telling on CD that Holly sent and miss him very much. My thoughts are with you and the family Holly.
