I live in Las Vegas and was wondering if there were any haunted locations near here. I have read about the Haunted Vegas Tour and it seems to be rather embellished.

Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge of nearby locations?

I don't have any firsthand accounts, because I have never been to Las Vegasm but these are haunted places in Las Vegas as posted on www.theshadowlands.net

Las Vegas - Bally's Hotel/Casino - It used to be the old MGM which burned down (with people in it) and Bally's bought the property. (The new MGM is located further south.)

Las Vegas - Bellagio - formerly Dunes Hotel and Casino - in 1993 before the closing of the hotel. you could feel cold spots through out the resorts main tower and casino. and after hours in the lounge on the top floor of the hotel you could see a blue glow and the voices of people when no one was there... the hotel was imploded on Oct.23 1993 and has been replaced by the Bellagio.

Las Vegas - Caesars Palace Hotel Casino - a cocktail waitress on the graveyard shift at Caesars reports that in the bathrooms down the escalator in the Forum Casino, the sensory water faucets turn on and off of their own volition. If you try to put your hands under a already running faucet it will turn off. She saw the faucets turn on and off many times with her being the only one in the room.

Las Vegas - Dell H. Robinson Middle School - Many sightings of an old man walking the halls of this school have been reported by new students coming from another state. They always see a man dressed as a janitor walking around in the hallway with blood on his hands. when school is out, the man follows them all the way home then disappears. The student will have nightmares and see this man in their dreams. This only happens to new students enrolling to this school and will happen until next time they go to church.

Las Vegas - The Excalibur - Walking down the hallway on the 10th floor you feel as though someone is directly behind you, hovering over your back, and then you hear a whisper, directly in your ear as if their lips were only an inch away.

Las Vegas - Flamingo Hotel & Casino - This Las Vegas landmark is haunted by its founding father the infamous mobster Bugsy Segal. Guests lounging by the pool in the late evening hours when the pool is less crowded see the apparition of him. And a cleaning lady quit after seeing Bugsy on the fifth floor.

Las Vegas - Las Vegas Academy Main Theatre - Since the opening of the theatre students have reported hearing strange sounds and seeing the apparition of an elderly main named "Mr. Petre". The legend says the man used to live on the property before the theatre was built in the 1930's and appears when the theatre is empty.

Las Vegas - Little Choo Choo Daycare - The daycare was closed because of a teacher who committed suicide and a little boy who was killed getting dragged underneath the tracks of the toy train. Some people said usually at night or sometimes in the day there is a presence of a little boy digging with his shovel in the ground. Nobody knows who he is, but sometimes he appears out of nowhere and some said at night a black woman can been seen trespassing and disappearing out of thin air.

Las Vegas - Luxor Hotel and Casino - is said to have a ghost of two construction workers that died while building the Pyramid.

Las Vegas - MGM Grand hotel & casino - if you work night shift (12:00-8:00am)you see a figure of person laying on the bed these are the bodies that died when the mgm first burned down most cleaning ladies in the emerald tower (green tower) hold rosary beads walking through those halls

Las Vegas - the Mirage - Rumors that the Bath Rooms by Danny Gans' theatre are haunted. The automatic sensor faucets go on by themselves when in there late and alone. 1 cleaning lady won't go in there and holds her rosary beads as she passes the area after witnessing the sinks while cleaning it. There are rumors a wall fell down on workers when the casino was being built.

Las Vegas - Nellis Air force base - a grayish figure and footsteps are observed here.

Las Vegas - Redd Foxx' home - Said that Redd Foxx ghost is playing pranks on the current tenants.

Las Vegas - Sahara and Sandhill - If you drive down the dirt roads in that area you may be chased by an elderly woman in a car. If you leave the street she won't follow.

Las Vegas - Sandhill and Charleston - If you turn off of Charleston Blv. onto Sandhill Rd. heading toward Sahara you will shortly pass a set of flood control tunnels that pass under the freeway and let out onto a small neighborhood street named Olive. Many neighborhood residents use this as and uncomfortable but fast shortcut to the other side of the freeway and neighborhood children often play in them. Many people including have heard the voices of two people whispering in the tunnels late in the evening when there is none around. They sound like a male and female and coincidently just before those tunnels were built a young couple were flying down Olive on motorcycles and hit the pile of construction debris that was there at the time. They crashed early morning and were not discovered until around 6 am.

Las Vegas - Tropicana Hotel & Casino - Over the years visitors to this hotel are greeted at the entrance by a large tiki mask face, and many people have reported getting a terrible purple rash after touching it. And when people take pictures in front of it they report seeing a strange purple hazy cloud of smoke in the picture after they developed the pictures.

Las Vegas - Vo-Tech High School - Late at night around 11:00pm there is a shadow in the figure of a man that stands by the gym doors.

Las Vegas - Whiskey Pete's Casino - Whiskey Pete's ghost is watching players play in his casino.

Tezex the Haunted Las Vegas tour is a very Vegas styled tour but the ghosts are real. There is a ghost conference coming up in October that our GV mayor, Mr. Belanger is speaking at.

I'm in Vegas and some friends and I have toyed with the idea of ghost hunting together. For the most part we can't get our act together. But if you ever need/want someone to go ghost hunting with, I'm so game!

The townhouse I just moved out of (bought own home) was seriously haunted. I miss our ghosts.

I used to live in Vegas and can tell you that there are many places that claim to be haunted. What you need to do is get in contact with a reputable ghost hunting group in Vegas (check the web) and join up with them. Sure they may be a little showy, but come on, you live in Vegas. Wish I could give you a little better sources for your venture but after leaving most of my money, and my first wife, in Vegas, I have vowed not to return unless I am on a suicide mission. LOL...LOL...LOL!!!

I live in Las Vegas and I am looking to get a group started. I have some of the equipment needed including 2 EMF meters, 2 IR Thermometers, 2 Digital recorders and 4 Infrared Cameras with a CCTV system that runs off a Toshiba 17" satellite capable laptop. The ONLY thing I don't have YET is a thermal imaging camera and an infrared camcorder. I could also use more of what I already have but that is more a luxury than anything. These posts are kinda old, I hope people still check this. I live in Las Vegas and have yet to find any huanted places myself. Vo-Tech High School is REALLY close to my house I'm really tempted to go up there and see if there's anything to the stories. I would enjoy hooking up with others to check out other haunted areas in the city, and if anyone is up for the drive, the most haunted place I've ever been is in Phelan Ca. Its about three hours from Las Vegas and I'll be willing to share the story with anyone that I feel would respect it (I'm not wasiting that much time and gas for someone that will just make a joke out of the whole thing). I'll check here from time to time to see if I get any replies.

You may wish to check out some of the outlying areas from Las Vegas also. For instance, Goldfield, NV is only a couple of hours from there. I have been fascinated by the Goldfield Hotel for some time and would like to go there to see the historic building. This hotel was the finest of it's time and had the first Otis elevator in the state. As far as I know the elevator still resides in the building.

Well good luck with your investigations. If your interested these are the sites I know of in Las Vegas;

Bally's Hotel and Casino- In 1980 it was the site of one of the worst hotel fires in US history and is supposed to be haunted by those killed.

Carluccio's Tivoli Gardens- The spirit of Liberace is said to have taken up residence in this restaurant he once owned. Electrical surges, bottles tipping by themselves, and bathroom stalls that lock and unlock on their own. Once the power went out and wouldn't come back on until someone realized that it was Liberace's birthday, when they wished him a happy birthday the power came back on. His spirit has also supposedly been seen outside.

The Flamingo Hilton Hotel- "Bugsy" Siegel is supposed to haunt the Presidential Suite and pool here.

Jacki Gaughan's Plaza Hotel- Staff report that the showroom here is haunted by a ghost who likes to play pranks and move things around.

Las Vegas Hilton- The ghost of ELVIS is said to haunt the area around the backstage elevators here. This is obviously an erroneous report since we've all read how alive he is. Maybe he has out of body experiences? OH MY GOD!!!! Elvis is PSYCHIC!

Nellis Air Force Base- An unidentified gray spectre has been reported here along the south wall, in the hanger bay, and in the hallway leading to the break room. Disembodied footsteps have also been reported.

Redd Foxx's Home- The current occupents report that Redd Foxx's spirit plays pranks on them.

Tropicana Hotel and Casino- Visitors have reported a strange purple rash after touching the large tiki mask here. Others have reported a strange purple mist in pictures of the mask.

I got the pleasure of exploring th Goldfield Hotel in February..and if you can get permissions, it is DEFINITELY worth the drive from Las Vegas

It's not Las Vegas specifically, but the Green Valley area of Henderson has Foxridge Park, where I have seen ghosts. I have heard several reports from friends of witnessing a little boy on the swings after midnight, and I personally have seen what others refer to as "shadow people" near the back of the park, near the elementary school.
