The Sprague Mansion - Cranston, Rhode Island, USA

Ron and Maureen will be broadcasting live from the Governor Sprague Mansion in Cranston, Rhode Island. Built in 1790 by William Sprague, the mansion was the seat of power for the prominent Sprague family. They owned the very successful print works in town, their family produced a Rhode Island governor, a U.S. Congressman, and a U.S. Senator. By the time of the United States Civil War, they were the wealthiest family in the United States. But the higher they climb… sometimes the farther they fall.

The Spragues who worked in government were outspoken critics of the Masons, they had enemies in town, and possibly enemies within their own family. The end result was the murder of Amasa Sprague on the banks of the Pocasset River on December 31, 1843 -- just a mile from the mansion. Was it the Masons who murdered Amasa? Was it local proprietor and Irish immigrant John Gordon who was seen arguing with Amasa a few days earlier over the loss of his liquor license? Or was it Amasa's brother, William who wanted to see the Sprague family business grow well beyond the Rhode Island borders while Amasa was content with simply being the king of Rhode Island?

John Gordon was convicted of the murder based on the fact that he was seen arguing with Amasa and because he didn't attend the funeral. The circumstantial evidence was so weak that when the death sentence was executed that priest who gave Gordon his last rites told him that he would be welcomed into heaven and that God would punish those who served this injustice. Gordon has the distinction of being the last man executed for a capital crime in the state of Rhode Island.

Salem Chapel - East Budleigh, Devon, UK

Salem Chapel dates back to 1719 and stands on the edge of East Budleigh, the birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh. The Chapel’s past is one where smuggling played a major role. The minister from 1768 to 1807 was Samuel Leat, reputably a man made wealthy from the illicit gains of smuggling. After his death in 1817 a scandal arose over embezzled funds leading to the desecration of his grave in 1818 when the coffin was dug up and wrecked and the body mangled. A team from Haunted Devon will be leading the investigation, including Eileen King a Pagan Witch from Plymouth who will be marking the Pagan Halloween festival in a traditional way.

The Treasury Bar - Plymouth, Devon, UK

A first for any paranormal team. Some strange things have been happening at "The Treasury" and Haunted Devon intend to find out what is going on.

Theatre Royal - Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia

Castlemaine's Theatre Royal is the oldest continually operating theatre on the Australian mainland. Back around 1852 an early structure of rough timber and canvas was constructed to provide live entertainment for the thousands of diggers who swarmed into the district after discovery of what was to become the richest gold yielding area in the country.

Apparitions, poltergeist activity and strange noises have plagued the theatre for many years. Do the people who used to inhabit this property still remain here? Owners David Stretch and Sarah Burdekin seem to think so. They have witnessed things first hand, and that's not to mention stories of satanic worship, murder, prostitutes and secret tunnels that are associated with the history of this building.
