Hans Holzer, Ph.D is one of the foremost authorities on the paranormal, and he has written over 100 books in his long and distinguished career. His book, Hans Holzer's the Supernatural: Explaining the Unexplained, is among his finest nonfiction books to date.
After an interesting foreword and introduction, the reader is immediately caught up in the clear, concise chapters which follow one upon another. Part One: The Psychic contains six chapters. Part Two: The Other Side of Life has three chapters. Part Three: Those Creatures, contains one informative chapter on vampires, demons, and such.
Part Four: Powers and Possession contains one chapter concerned with possession and exorcism. Part Five: The Nature of Time and Space contains a chapter on time and space. Part Six: Path to the Truth contains one chapter on the real alchemy. Further readings sources are listed along with a nice index.
One of the most fascinating chapters is Chapter 12 which discusses time and space. This section alone makes this finely written book a candidate for your local librarian to order and have placed in the public library. It details an amazing paranormal encounter with a ghostly situation. Hans Holzer and the famous medium and Witch, Sybil Leek investigated a happening in Philadelphia in 1967. There are other cases investigated as well.
Every chapter in this book deals in-depth with a topic of the paranormal. Among the many topics covered include what is psychic ability, the psychic nature of animals, predicting the future, from clairvoyance to prophecy, dreams and the psychic, out-of-body experiences, psychic healing, channeling, past lives, what it is like on the other side of life, near-death experiences, proof of the hereafter, ghosts, spirits, hauntings, demons, vampires, possession, exorcism, time, space, path to truth, and alchemy.
Holzer writes in a clear, enjoyable manner, and he states his factual data in a way that educates as well as entertains. His ability to de-scarify once scary topics and present them in a meaningful, honest manner is his trademark as a respected author over the past three decades. His previous books include Ghosts, Ghosts of New England, Where the Ghosts Are, True Ghost Stories, Life Beyond, among others.
The Supernatural is one of Hans Holzer's finest books, and it is one many readers of the supernatural and paranormal will enjoy, and savor! If you are interested in ghosts and the paranormal, this is the book for you.
