As for a reference on what Paganism is and is not, this is the book. Numerous contributors appear in the book, some of them with photographs of the contributor. Among the many writers are Margot Adler, Starhawk, Z. Budapest, Annie Sprinkle, and Isaac Bonewitts.

The book is divided into sections. Among these sections are found the informative "The New Druids and the Celtic Revival," "The Wiccan Tradition," "The Faery Faith," two memorable entries by D'vora and Annie Sprinkle on "Sacred Prostitutes," and "Circle Sanctuary."

A section on Pagan artists has contributions from Elspeth and Nybor, Ian Corrigan, Deborah Ann Light, and Magnus McBride. A sensitive section titled "Pagans and the Politics of Persecution" features writings by Terry Riley, Lady Sintana, and Sam Wagar.

A first rate collection of writings makes this an ideal reference for those curious or new to the topic of contemporary Paganism, and an fine reference that covers much material in a clear, concise manner. Other sections include books and articles, audiotapes and videotapes, magazines and other publications, and related topics.

Enjoyable, entertaining, and informative are the three words that sum up this fine book. Each contribution is unique. Excellent.
