This book is about restoring impairments done to the brain with the highly effective technique called Low Energy Neurofeedback System, which is known as LENS. For individuals who have suffered trauma to the head and brain, this approach is an alternative to chemicals.
An important aspect of LENS is how it may apply directly to chronic behavioral disorders such as anxiety, ADHD, monopolar and bipolar depression. Its use can also be applied to childhood developmental disorders. The LENS approach is also applicable to animals. The glossary is in-depth and several areas are detailed.
Case histories are given and discussed. This book makes for fascinating reading about the brain. The LENS uses electromagnetic fields to stimulate brain-wave activity, and also to restore brain flexibility and responsiveness. You will have a new appreciation for brain research after reading this book!
The author of this fine book is Stephen Larsen. He has also written The Shaman's Doorway. He directs the Stone Mountain Center for Counseling and Biofeedback near New Paltz, New York. The book is dedicated to Dr. Len Ochs who originally developed LENS.
