Paul Naudon makes a fine historical discovery by revealing how the origins of contemporary Freemasonry can actually be traced back to the colleges of artisans found in ancient Rome. Naudon traces this evolution of various organizations in a straight-forward approach. One exciting chapter is about secular brotherhoods.
How the transmission of tradition from pre-Christian times to the modern era was achieved is explained. The information makes for interesting reading! Chapter 5 is about the Crusades and the Templars, and there are some fresh insights in this chapter which will intrigue those interested in the Knights Templar.
Paul Naudon is a law scholar. He is a Freemason and author, and lives in France. The book is translated by Jon Graham, and the translation is skillful and smooth.
Readers interested in secret societies and Freemasonry will enjoy this well-written account. Those interested in the connection to the Knights Templar will find this must-reading! Highly enjoyable!
