Dear Ghostvillagers,

Spring has sprung a leak here at the Ghostvillage.com world headquarters in Massachusetts. The warmer weather and occasional rain has caused some of the flowers to bloom, the grass to grab for our ankles, and the ghost conference season to start. There are some great events coming up over the next two months, and I'm hoping all 31,345 of you who receive this newsletter will join me at all of them (yes, all of them). A quick reminder on a few of these events that I'll be speaking at: The Mid-Atlantic Paranormal Conference is June 8-9. It's your last chance to get tickets to spend the night in one of America's most haunted prisons in Moundsville, West Virginia; Troy Taylor's Haunted America Conference is June 22-23 in Decatur, Illinois. It's the eleventh year for that event so you know it will be a hit; and the Ghost World Conference in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is July 20-22 -- you absolutely don't want to miss this huge conference, trade show, and symposium.

The warmer months means it's a time to get out and explore the haunts and legends in our own backyards. It's a time for campfire ghost stories and an opportunity to talk about everything that goes bump in the night. And if you're one of our many Ghostvillagers in the southern hemisphere of this big, round ball we call Earth, then you know the fall and winter may not be the best time to head outside for ghost tripping, but it is the perfect time to huddle close and philosophize and contemplate what the ghost experience means. No matter where you live, this month we're going to delve into the supernatural encounter a little deeper. What does the experience mean? What's the cause? What's the effect after seeing a ghost? Our encounters section is full of these experiences, and in our message board of the month we're going to discuss the how's and why's of this profound event.

A few other items worth noting this month: you have until May 17th to nominate someone for the Paranormal Awards that are being held at the Ghost World Conference in July. After May 17th, we'll take the top five nominees in each category and allow people to vote for the best of the best. What is your name?
Leonie-Jade Briggs (aka Leo)

How old are you?
Seventeen. Yeah pretty young, but I come across as very mature. I'm not your average seventeen-year-old.

Where do you live?
West Yorkshire, England

What do you do for a living?
I am currently doing a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years. Most of the course is based on work experience, so I'm just working with three to five years at the moment. It's really rewarding, but I hope to work with disabled children in the future.

What first got you interested in the supernatural?
I'm not sure, a number of things really. I've always been interested, but my really big turning point was my granddad's death.

Do you believe we all have psychic abilities?
I think we all have a part of us that we don't allow to surface, whether it is psychic or not. I'm not sure, but it allows us to reveal things about ourselves and find new inner powers.

What's in your CD player right now?
