March 28, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE A Weekend in St. AugustineST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA -- Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15, 2005, Southern Ghosts and their weekend guests will take a journey and attempt to "touch" the past. If there is one place in the United States where paranormal phenomena and history meld together, it's St. Augustine!Founded 42 years before the English colonized Jamestown and 55 years before the pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock, St. Augustine is the nation's oldest standing relic. Since the Spanish founded the colony in 1565, wars, fires, and diseases have all tried their hand at destroying St. Augustine's very foundations, but in the end, the city survived. Today, St. Augustine stands as a testament to man's courage in the face of hardship. For paranormal investigators, St. Augustine represents the oldest paranormal time capsule in the United States. The American Institute of Parapsychology (AIP) has conducted investigations in such places as the Castillo de San Marcos (completed in 1695), the Huguenot Cemetery (opened in 1821 during a yellow fever epidemic), the Spanish Bakery courtyard (located in the historic Plaza), the Tolomato Cemetery (1777), the St. Augustine Lighthouse, Murphy's Pour House, the St. Francis Inn, Harry's Restaurant and the Old St. Augustine Village (site of original settlement in 1565). Southern Ghosts has had many compelling paranormal experiences in this city, as well as a great deal of feedback from people who have shared similar experiences. Many people have inquired as to when Southern Ghost will conduct a weekend event there again. In light of this, Southern Ghosts has set up "A Weekend in St. Augustine" from Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15, 2005. Join Southern Ghost as they conduct an exclusive investigation of Harry's Restaurant and experience the full flavor of one of America's oldest, and most haunted, cities.
