FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE California Author Launches Paranormal Animal Research GroupGhost-hunting group specializing in animal-spirit hauntings, investigates houses and other places where the spirits of animals have been seen, heard, or felt. They also gather data on living animals and their apparent sensitivity to spirits and other paranormal phenomena.Los Angeles, CA - If your house is being haunted by a ghostly animal, whether it be a phantom feline or a disembodied dog, the person to call is occult author and freelance ghost-hunter, Gerina Dunwich. You see, ghosts of the four-legged variety are her specialty. "Encounters with the spirits of deceased pets and other animals are almost as common as those involving human spirits," says Dunwich. "However, I didn't feel that enough attention had been paid to this particular area of the paranormal, especially where scientific research and investigation are concerned. So I decided to start the Paranormal Animal Research Group, which, as far as I know, is the only group of its kind in existence." A cat-lover herself, Dunwich feels it's "important for people to realize that the bond forged between many individuals and their pets is, in certain cases, so strong that it remains even after the death of the physical body." She is a firm believer that "animals, like all living things, have a spirit. And just like their human counterparts, these spirits sometimes, for one reason or another, remain earthbound. Therefore, it would be a highly inaccurate statement to say that everyone who has ever witnessed an animal apparition, heard or sensed the presence of a beloved pet that has passed on, or experienced the sensation of a phantom animal brushing against his or her legs, is simply a victim of an over-active imagination." When not busy compiling true animal ghost stories for her latest book, Phantom Felines and Other Ghostly Animals (scheduled for publication by Citadel Press in the fall of 2006), Dunwich and her highly-trained group of paranormal researchers investigate houses and other places where the spirits of animals have been seen, heard, or felt. The equipment they use includes EMF detectors, infra-red thermometers, cameras, and tape recorders for picking up EVP animal sounds. They also gather data on living animals and their apparent sensitivity to spirits and other paranormal phenomena. Dealing with each case on a purely scientific level, Dunwich makes it clear that "we are neither ghost-busters nor pet psychics, and we do not perform exorcisms or any other religious services." At the present time the investigations that are carried out by Dunwich and her group are limited to Southern California, particularly in the Los Angeles, Hollywood, San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Simi Valley areas. Dunwich hopes to eventually establish PAR-Group chapters in other states and perhaps in other countries as well.
